The 10A and 20A versions are mechanically differentiated by pin diameter to prevent misconnection. This safety feature ensures that a 20A-rated device cannot be plugged into a circuit protected for only 10A. The 20A socket has larger receptacles and is designed exclusively for the 20A plug.
