High-Temperature Variant: C15 vs C13

It is important to distinguish the standard C13 from its high-temperature variant, the C15 connector. While visually similar, the C15 features a keyway (notch) cut into the connector body that prevents it from mating with a standard C14 inlet. C15 connectors are rated for 120°C (versus 70°C for C13) and are used for high-temperature applications such as electric kettles, server power supplies, and networking equipment in high-density racks. The C15A variant has an even higher rating of 155°C.
